Devastating aftershocks continue in Colombia, leaving 319 dead, thousands injured, and over 31,000 homes destroyed. As families pray for missing loved ones, they cling to faith amidst the widespread destruction.

After the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, many first responders struggled to comprehend the gravity of the tragedy and their personal losses. In this look-back story, learn how Calvary Chapel pastors, including Pastor Gerry Brown of CC Romoland, CA, rushed to New York City to lift their arms with spiritual support and prayers.

Immediately after the Pentagon was attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, Dee Parlato, from Calvary Chapel Largo, MD, began praying for the men in the room and the decision they were about to make. The room in the Pentagon where Dee would normally have been at that time of day, had just been attacked. This story originally appeared in Issue 9, Fall of 2001.

Andy Deane grew up at Calvary Chapel Old Bridge in New Jersey and attended New York University. He lived blocks from the World Trade Center and worked in its shadow in the fall of 2001. Like many in that area of Manhattan on September 11, Andy ran toward the towers after planes crashed through their upper floors. This is his personal account.

Please pray for the families and churches in the Spokane County, Washington, area where many neighborhoods have been devastated since Saturday afternoon when numerous wildfires quickly spread by forceful winds. More than 700 structures have been destroyed, and more than 8,000 acres have been consumed by fire with 0% containment. The battle is ongoing with firefighters from many states joining the effort.

Please pray for the ministry Calvary Bible Institute South (CBI South), located at Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain led by Pastor Sandy Adams. CBI South is a ministry that trains 18 to 30-year-old young adults through a 10-month discipleship program. This past year, CBI South completed its inaugural class with 18 students, who spent the last few months devoting themselves to the Lord.
