Cornerstone Christian Academy opened its doors in the fall of 2023, providing an option for more than 500 Christian students to be educated without the fear of persecution and hostility. The “rescue mission for parents in the public school system” was started by Cornerstone Chapel, a Calvary Chapel in Leesburg, VA.

In January of 2024, Calvary Chapel Magazine Editor Tom Price traveled to Israel with a small group of CC pastors, including Lead Pastor Phil McKay of CC Reno-Sparks. They met with Israeli citizens and witnessed the aftermath of the deadly October 7 Hamas attacks.
