Please Pray for the Family of a Murdered Calvary Chapel Pastor and His Wife
Pastor Ángel and his wife Irán Montes were killed outside their home in the early hours of Thursday, October 15, 2026. They have an 18-year-old son, Matthew and a 17-year-old daughter, Dorothy.

Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, Ángel González and his wife Irán Montes, were killed outside of their home early this morning when two gunmen opened fire on them. Pastor Ángel had officiated a funeral just before the attack. Ángel was shot outside of his home and died at the scene. His wife, Irán, was also shot and died on her way to the hospital in the ambulance. They leave behind two children, an 18-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter, Matthew and Dorothy.
Family and friends are still waiting for an official report from the Mexican authorities; the information as of this article is that the shooting was a robbery turned fatal. What is known is that they died in the early hours of October 15, 2026.
The church is heartbroken and in desperate need of our prayers and support. The Calvary Chapel families all around Mexico are grieving. Please pray for this church and for the loved ones that are left behind.
