Pepe, having recently lost his son, moved to the South Bay area and began attending a local Calvary Chapel. In his grief, he longed for fellowship with brothers who could relate. He was invited to attend the SoCal Men’s Conference.

“It felt good to be in a place where everyone is praising the Lord and celebrating His mercy,” Pepe shared. The conference revealed to him that many men, like himself, are yearning to become better husbands, fathers, and sons. “The teachings showed me that though I may stumble, we’re all striving to grow in Jesus.”

Pepe was deeply moved by the power of the messages. “It felt like each pastor was speaking directly to me,” he confided. “In a world full of temptations, knowing that other men are wrestling with the same struggles as I, it was a comfort.”

Pastor John Randall of Calvary Chapel South OC in San Clemente, CA, recalled, “As a young man, I was inspired by the ‘For Men Only’ conferences hosted by CC Costa Mesa under Pastor Chuck Smith.” After years of ministry, including planting a church in Florida, John felt led to resurrect the men’s conference. In 2019, his church stepped out, bringing the SoCal Men’s Conference to the Anaheim Convention Center.

“We didn’t know if men would come. It was a huge step of faith for us, especially with no external sponsors or backing,” John explained. “But when we saw the sea of men gathered, we knew this was something God had called us to lead.”

With a heart to see men of all generations, with Bibles in hand, united in worship, John envisions the conference as a catalyst to inspire men to impact Southern California for Christ.
