Please Pray for Send Hope Now in India

Please pray for the ministry based out of Calvary Boise, Idaho, SendHopeNow (SHN). It reaches orphans and the hopeless and powerless with the love of God, especially those impacted by leprosy. The group brings Calvary Chapel pastors to minister to those suffering from years of neglect and hardship. SHN supports four leper colonies to help meet their physical and spiritual needs.
“The physical relief we offer is accompanied by the Gospel, sharing the everlasting hope we have,” said Thad Heagy, SHN operations coordinator.
In 1989, SHN was established by Calvary Boise, ID, to support the vulnerable in India through Lamech Gunasekaran’s Christian community center in Bangalore, India. Now called Calvary Chapel Trust (CCT), aka Calvary Chapel India, founding Pastor “Guna” and his family serve India’s lowest caste system, the Untouchables (Dalit). Considered ‘broken’ by Indian culture, Mother Theresa brought worldwide awareness to the plight of these “thrown away of the society” in the slums of Kolkata (Calcutta). God takes special interest in the marginalized, and Jesus taught His followers to care for the castaway—something CCT lovingly does through the prayers and support of many believers.
