Pastor Jim Motshagen and His Family’s Loss

Please pray for Pastor Jim Motshagen and family as they mourn the loss of Jim’s wife, Kathy, who passed away after a long battle with cancer. She had helped her husband, Jim, as he traveled the United States, putting together the Calvary Satellite Network.

Jim was key in making the Calvary radio network actually work, with the help of his wife, traveling approximately 5,000 miles every month, repairing equipment and producing programs. Kathy was Jim’s right-hand servant.

Jim was the founder of Calvary Chapel The Dwelling Place in Valparaso, Indiana. Pastor Chuck Smith had commissioned Jim to start the project many years ago, appreciating Jim’s work ethic. He had been a deputy sheriff in Arizona and a night watchman there had led Jim to the Lord. An assistant pastor at a Calvary Chapel in Las Vegas, the family moved to Indianapolis, and he began a Bible study there that turned into a church. 🕊
