Lisa Edwards was an integral part of the Calvary Chapel Clayton, NC, worship team until heart problems took away the breath she needed for singing. Lisa passed into heaven on December 17. Her husband, Senior Pastor Kevin Edwards, said, “Heaven is way more real once your wife is there. The more people I know that go, it becomes more and more real. We look forward to the Lord coming, and I’m thankful for this hope.”

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God AlmightyWho was and is and is to comeWith all creation I sing praise to the King of kingsYou are my everything and I will adore You

“This song, 'Revelation Song', was a song Lisa sang all the time,” Pastor Kevin Edwards of CC Clayton, NC, said of his wife Lisa. “I keep hearing her singing and her voice is strong now because she didn’t have the strength for the last few years.” Lisa La Chon Edwards passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 17, and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus. She had been battling heart issues.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15

As her husband, Pastor Kevin, jokes with new attendees, Lisa can’t contain her laughter. Lisa was active in many ministries—she led the women’s ministry and the Sparkle (cleaning) Team as well as hosting and planning women’s conferences.

Kevin and Lisa served at Calvary Chapel Cary, NC, for many years before God called them to lead a fellowship of believers in a Bible study that then became Calvary Chapel Clayton, where they have faithfully served since 2008. The multicultural congregation has continued to grow as they poured their lives into the people in their community.

Kevin was present in his church on Sunday along with he and Lisa’s two children—Kaylon, 20 and Lydia, 13—as they partook in communion with their church family. He spoke a brief but encouraging message to his congregation, thanking them for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support. “Jesus held us together through all of this. She is praising Him now,” he reassured.

Lisa laughs as she listens to longtime church attendee Joe Rozek share a story. Comments on social media following her death noted that her contagious laughter filled the rooms and hearts of those who knew her.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4:14

Lisa enjoys some good-natured teasing with Calvary Chapel Pastor Joey Rozek, who was visiting his parents, who attend CC Clayton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Lisa at CC Clayton on Friday, December 23 at 1 pm. Condolences, flowers, or letters can be sent to the Edwards Family at Calvary Chapel Clayton, 510 West Main Street, Clayton, NC 27520.

Lisa shows her concern for a woman at CC Clayton, giving her full attention before the beginning of the Sunday service. She has been remembered as “a precious friend, a joy, the light of Christ, warm, loving, kind, a true woman of God who lived her life to please the Master.”
